Course Description:The development of western music, historically a slow process, was rapidly affected several times: from the Renaissance Era to the Baroque; from the Classical to the Romantic; and from the Late Romantic to the modern age, specifically led by the towering presences of Claudio Monteverdi, Ludwig van Beethoven and the Fab Four. This four-part offering will examine their contributions, profiling the style characteristics of the era that preceded each, and detailing the changes that each composer brought to the development of music. |
