Course Description:

Nick and Nora Charles are Dashiell Hammett's most enchanting creations, a rich, glamorous, urbane, knowing, and unabashedly romantic couple who solve homicides in between snappy dialogue, wisecracks and martinis. Originally created in the 1933 novel, each of the 1930s series of "The Thin Man" films—starring William Powell as Nick, Myrna Loy as Nora and, of course, Asta—is a murder mystery that doubles as a sophisticated comedy of manners. In this Saturday matinee course, we will view and discuss: "The Thin Man" (1934), "After the Thin Man" (1936), and "Another Thin Man" (1939).

Tuition: $35.00
