Course Description:

The glasswork of the late 19th and early 20th centuries is among the most elegant and extravagant in decorative art history. Two of the most famous and prolific glass designers of this era, Louis Comfort Tiffany and John La Farge, exemplify the outstanding contributions made to works of art in glass during this period. Their opulent designs in interiors, stained glass, vases, and other objets d’art set artistic standards in creativity, beauty and luxury in the art of glassmaking. This talk will also explore the technical aspects of glassmaking in the hands of these two innovative artists.
