Course Description:

In 1991, the American Institute of Architects recognized Frank Lloyd Wright as “the greatest American architect of all time.” While his groundbreaking structures can be found across the globe, 36 designs are on the West Coast including the storied Mrs. Clinton Walker House in Carmel. Architectural historian Mark Wilson will explore many of these sites, using captivating images and stories from his book, Frank Lloyd Wright on the West Coast. Personal anecdotes from clients who commissioned Wright to design their homes will be included.

Facilitator:

Mark A. Wilson has been lecturing and writing about California architecture for more than 35 years. He has lectured nationally for the National Trust’s Historic Real Estate Program, and has had articles published in "The New York Times," "Los Angeles Times," "San Francisco Chronicle," "San Jose Mercury News" and "USA Today." The author of five books on historic architecture, he currently teaches art history at Santa Rosa Community College.
