Course Description:

With inimitable expertise and insight, internationally acclaimed and Grammy-award nominated conductor Stewart Robertson provides single-session snapshots of four of history’s greatest composers, including (1) Beethoven, the Radical Innovator; (2) Mozart and his Sound World; (3) Brahms, the Last of the Dinosaurs; and (4) Britten, the Loss of Innocence.

Facilitator:

Stewart Robertson has conducted more than 100 world premieres including guest appearances with the New York City Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Montreal, St. Louis, Royal Scottish National and Arturo Toscanini Orchestras, and the Ukraine State Philharmonic. He has been Music Director of Florida Grand Opera and Glimmerglass Opera and was recently awarded the title of Music Director Emeritus of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra. He has been featured in PBS’s “Live from Lincoln
Centre” and “Great Performances” telecasts.
