Course Description:

Margaret, Esther and Helen Bruton were accomplished artists who made significant contributions to California modernism in the first half of the 20th century. Each sister was a unique talent who excelled in her chosen medium–Margaret with painting and terrazzo, Helen with mosaics, and Esther with decorative screens and murals. Despite their impressive achievements, the Bruton sisters were largely forgotten until recent decades. This talk provides and overview of their prolific art careers and fascinating lives, with an emphasis on their deep connections to the Monterey Peninsula.

Note: This session is designed for those who plan to attend in person. After the session, as a bonus, we will also send the recording to you so you can watch at your leisure.
