Course Description:Almost everyone has heard about Critical Race Theory, but few people actually understand what it means. How and why has misinformation about Critical Race Theory spread so rapidly? What insights does this spread give us regarding what is being taught in schools? Should schools teach about race and racism, and when they do, what impact does that actually have on kids? Dr. Christine Sleeter shares insights from her new book, "Critical Race Theory and Its Critics" and sheds an informative light on what Critical Race Theory means, how it has become politicized and why, and what citizens can do to support racial equity in education. |
