Course Description:The discoveries made in physics have led us to a profound understanding of the natural world, from phenomena that may be taking place at scales of about one undecillionth of a meter, to scales of the observable universe, about one septillion kilometers. Renowned physicist, Dr. Andres Larraza, explores the main aspects of the physical laws that govern behavior at various scales, and the evolution of the ideas that have contributed to the establishment of our current understanding of the physical world. |

Andres Larraza, Ph.D., received his doctorate in physics from UCLA. He joined the faculty at the Naval Postgraduate School in 1989 and before retiring in 2020, served as both physics department chair and chair of the Undersea Warfare Academic Group. His research interests varied widely and included nonlinear waves, acoustic analogs to electromagnetic zero-point field effects, underwater acoustic communications, energy harvesting, and railgun technology, among many other areas of focus.
