World Affairs Discussion Group | Livestream Zoom

Course Description:

The World Affairs Council of the Monterey Bay Area presents this moderated discussion format, which has generated insightful exchanges on issues in world affairs for decades. The discussion topic each month will be centered on a selection from the Council's recent speakers (available online) featuring leading international affairs experts from our area. Participants are encouraged to watch the selected speaker, consider suggested readings and pursue independent study on the issue at hand in order to share their knowledge and views–but just listening is fine too.

Course will meet via Zoom and will NOT be recorded or available for viewing later. A Zoom link will be emailed to each participant prior to the class session.


Boyd Haight spent 35 years living overseas as an official of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Originally from the Bay Area, he recently retired to Monterey and has become involved with a number of non-profit organizations. Linda Dilger grew up in Salinas where her parents emigrated from Germany. Linda retired after 35 years of mathematics education leadership. She was also a lecturer at CSUMB and holds master's degrees in educational technology and education leadership.
