Monterey's Most Feared Beach (Closed)

Course Description:

Few beaches along the Central Coast conjure up as much anxiety among divers and tourists as Monastery Beach in southern Carmel Bay. But beneath the waves lies a mosaic of habitats ranging from sand waves to kelp forests to a deep undersea canyon that all serve as home for a variety of fishes. Come learn about how small fish leverage any habitat they can find for protection; how adult kelp rockfish find and occupy different locations day and night; and how fishes from the deep meet those from the shallows in a twilight zone where few divers ever go.
