Course Description:Healthy oceans are essential to human well-being. However, surveying these vast and diverse ecosystemshas always been a formidable challenge. Using new genomic technologies similar to those used to detect COVID-causing viruses in wastewater, we are now able to rapidly surveil marine ecosystems to learn about the species that live there. These methods help us understand how a broad range of marine organisms, from whales to microbes, are responding to climate change and other threats. |
