[Past Event] Frank Lloyd Wright Staged Reading

Course Description:

In 1907, Frank Lloyd Wright was already 40. As an architect, he was a rising star, a brilliant young designer with innovative ideas and a magnetic personality. But his personal life in Oak Park, Illinois, was consumed in scandal. In 1909, Wright abandoned his wife of 20 years, his six children, and his promising career, and ran off to Europe with a client’s wife. This story is told through the eyes of Catherine Tobin Wright, his first wife, and his lover, Mamah Borthwick Cheney, who was brutally murdered at Taliesin, the home Wright built for her in Wisconsin. Prior to the reading, we will take a video tour of Taliesin, which was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage site.
