Course Description:

The Bay Area is home to a number of world-class art museums, and exciting new exhibitions and installations are making their debut. Diane Levinson has created a virtual roadmap of art museum highlights. SFMOMA will kick off the series as we view Diego Rivera’s "Pan American Unity mural," hidden from public view for 50 years, as well as the exhibition, "Approaching American Abstraction." Next up is the Cantor Arts Center with Yinka Shonibare’s "The American Library" just one of the highlights. The DeYoung Museum’s "Alice Neel: People Come First" is also featured with stops along the way at the Oakland Museum (Dorothea Lange Digital Archive) and the San Jose Museum of Art (Pae White’s "Noisy Blushes," comprised of 12,000 silkscreened electroplated disks, adorns the museum’s atrium). Join us for this grand tour!
