Course Description:

Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick (Fritz) Loewe collaborated on eight musicals which played on Broadway between 1942 and 1974. They met at the Lambs Club in New York City when Loewe took a wrong turn to the men’s room and ended up at Lerner’s table! Close friends throughout their lives, they were recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors in 1985. During this course we will watch five of their classic musicals that were made into films: "Brigadoon," "Paint Your Wagon," "My Fair Lady," "Gigi," and "Camelot." We’ll meet at the historic Lighthouse Cinema in Pacific Grove to view them on the big screen with popcorn, drinks, cookies, and snacks available for purchase.
